It can also prove a nightmare with support requests. Users often cannot connect to the larger Diaspora pods due to problems at Diaspora's end... and then blame you. However, quite a number of new Friendica users come from the Diaspora network and want a way of keeping in touch with their Diaspora contacts. You should probably enable Diaspora support on a public server. On a community server, you may not need it.
