Had a brief look around the directory today and noticed a few dead instances listed. E.g. https://dir.friendica.social/servers/en lists the following dead instances on page 1:

https://croab.cloud/
https://community.2quiet2market.com/
https://social.ellih.eu (Secure Connection Failed - Error code: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP)

Needs investigation whether probe is not working as expected to test if an instance can be reached, or if that part works but instances that cannot be reached are then not pulled from directory.
