Hmmm, tested it on an older php version, with xdebug installed.
DomDocument produces a lot of warnings.

This is not ready to pull.

I prevented DomDocument::loadHTML to emit warnings, so it now appears to work ok.

Anyway, i don't really like this solution, those warnings are there for a reason, it would be better to make sure we have proper html code produced by the templates.
