It sometimes seem to happen that a resize doesn't work. This then resulted in an error, since the content hadn't been a string. This is handled now. Also the PR adds the protocol value to the function that complete threads.

This PR also improves the status handling and fixes an aspect ratio problem when uploading pictures.
